Are the ones that failed and the ones that abandoned their teammates one and the same? Because that'd be good to know. And those would be good to not work with in the future.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Overload's what it sounds like. Hacks into tech I direct it at, fries it. Most of the time it just means the shield or door panel won't work again for a good five, ten minutes, but sometimes that means the thing explodes.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
We're talking a suit of armor, yeah? With its own name?
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
And yeah, saw the glow. Figured I wouldn't ask, probably personal. But if you're bringing it up - you make it too?
The fact that you think that says more about you than me. Or my planet. You don't even know who Ozzy is.

It's got an AI component, but I meant that as a figure of speech. I built it, myself. First the power source, then the rough model, and all the high-tech trimmings last.
Not the best judge of human ages, but your pic didn't make you look much older than me.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
And it's saying stuff about your planet. Everything's a memorial. Remember the alamo, there was some black friday, and a black other day, might as well be a black sabbath.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
And no. I don't remember the alamo. I have no damn clue what the alamo is. It sounds like some medicinal gel. Forget your sun stuff, put alamo on later.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
But I'm surprised that you've got an AI. Only recently did humans make one, and that was an accident. You put it together?
There's only so many times you can make something go boom before it gets old, and you want to move onto different things.

Like when a classic band comes back with a modern album. Except less mortifying.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Option C. But he wasn't first programmed for the Iron Man model--I needed an assistant around the house. He controls everything from security to data processing and other technological controls.
And that's where humans differ from krogan or turians.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Not with the bands, though. I hear you there.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Just making an AI is impressive, suit or assistant or whatever. Never really looked into it but I doubt I could do it. No idea where to even start. Just make sure he doesn't get too pissed off at humanity.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Know a species that lost their homeworld for a long time to an AI race they created and mistreated.
We're a little more diverse as a species to be lumped behind one individual decision like that. In fact, some would even argue that humans as a whole are innately violent.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
...Geez, Terminator, much?
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Anyway, if he gets pissed at anyone, it'll probably be me. I'm not exactly a joy to manage.
There's violence in every sentient species. It's how our ancestors made it to the top of the food chain and stayed there and evolved.

That one I've seen. It's banned on the Flotilla.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Humanity accidentally created one AI. She's actually with us, so right now Earth's safe. And if I were you, I'd get a bit better at working with yours. Remember he remembers everything. And can get into anything.
I didn't know there was more than one Terminator, but I shouldn't be surprised. It's a pretty popular theme for human vids I've seen - everything's gonna go wrong except for one person and they change the future.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Not as common in turian vids. Shame. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the "fleet saves the galaxy by being the whole fleet" theme as much as anyone else, but the one-person saving is an interesting one.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Group's my favorite, though. Small group of allies, all important, all saving the day. You'd want asari or salarian vids for that.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
And I've gotten completely off-track, sorry. When you see your AI again, be good to him. For your sake and Earth's sake.
It's an action movie from the eighties. As in it's pretty much obligated to have at least five sequels. And a modern nostalgic remake.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Again, I have to go with "not all of us." Actually the theme you're describing is more of a quintessential American thing. Other cultures tend to put more emphasis on the group than the individual.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Because American culture, by and large, is self-involved and more fixated on personal gain.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Trust me. If I could hug him, I probably would. Not to get mushy on you, but it's been a long time abroad.

Or left their partners standing with the bomb--apparently that was a thing that happened.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
I noticed. What exactly is overload?
[Tony can also read files.]
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
It's a toss-up because you can't have one without the other. The suit is one, obviously.

Could be. At least that's what I got from "putting one another in danger." And Armada's overall air of disapproval.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Your own design?
[Asking Garrus casually, but holy shit. Remind him not to come near you with his suit or his chest battery, any time soon.]
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Iron Man. Picked out by the masses and it just kinda stuck. Sends the right kind of message. And I love Black Sabbath.
FROM: stark.anthony@cdc.org
Yeah. The battery came first, and the suit built itself around it. I guess that's the simplest way to put it.

Gotta say I'm curious as to what made you change your mind. Especially when you do tech.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
